Founder & Head Trailblazer
As Campfire Collective’s Founder and Head Trailblazer, Shannon Briggs serves as the CEO and President, running the day-to-day business operations and ensuring that we stick to our core mission and values. With a focus on strategic partnerships, public relations, client satisfaction, and team support, Shannon is dedicated to Campfire’s intentional growth as well as preparing the next generation of community PR leaders.
A summa cum laude graduate from the University of Memphis with both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Communication, Shannon began her career as the Marketing and Events Coordinator for Huey’s Restaurants. After years of working during the day and freelancing on the side, she made the leap to full-time entrepreneurship in 2015. She has worked with over 100 organizations to develop and implement successful marketing campaigns, winning multiple awards in the process.
In 2022, when her business had grown from a solo endeavor to a team of six, Shannon knew the time was right to transition from Shannon R. Little Communications to Campfire Collective. Working collaboratively with her team and her clients, Shannon’s goal is to provide consistent and reliable marketing campaigns to meet each client’s specific and unique needs, and to have fun while doing it.
With a passion for communities and the people who make them great, Shannon has taken a leadership role in her industry and her city. She is a board member of the Shelby County Drug Court Foundation and the DeNeuville Learning Center for Women, and previously served as the volunteer Marketing Coordinator of the East Buntyn Artwalk (2013-2020) and the pro-bono Marketing Coordinator for Restore Corps from February 2012 to December 2021. A supporter of the Memphis chapter of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) since 2012, she served as the Vice President of Membership for 2017-18. Shannon was the Marketing Chair of the Madison Avenue Business Association Board from 2012-16, and served on the Levitt Shell Capital Campaign Committee from 2015-16. Shannon is an active member of The Society of Entrepreneurs Insights Group. Previously an active member of the Memphis Chamber Ambassadors program, she currently serves as Co-Chair of the Greater Memphis Chamber Women’s Business Council.
In addition to her community work, she also serves as an Adjunct Professor at The University of Memphis, teaching Intro to Strategic Media.
Born and bred in the 901, Shannon has a deep appreciation for all things Memphis: the music, food, festivals, Grizzlies, and her beloved Memphis Tigers. “I can’t imagine living anywhere else. I’m passionate about this community,” she says. “I’m fortunate to work with incredible Memphis businesses every day, sharing their stories.”
Shannon is the recipient of numerous awards and recognition. In 2023, Shannon was selected for the Memphis Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 class. In 2022, PRSA named Shannon the PR Executive of the Year and awarded Campfire Collective with six VOX Awards and five Gold Awards, highlighting Shannon’s leadership in Brand Management, Community Relations, Integrated Communications, and more.
