Carrying the Torch

Without the support of our community, Campfire Collective would have fizzled before it caught fire! We are forever grateful for the continued warm enthusiasm and welcome we receive from clients, colleagues, friends, and neighbors.

Our relationship with our community is a vital part of our identity. When it comes to our clients, we believe strongly in working with community-based businesses, so they can in turn lift up our community as a whole. And when we talk about volunteering, we are committed to using our resources to make a lasting, positive impact in Memphis.

Local non-profits light the flames – we want to carry the torch forward. We recognize the importance of advocating for the future female leaders of Memphis. That’s why we’ve partnered with organizations that champion women of all ages.

Partner Organizations

  • DeNeuville Learning Center for Women empowers women to improve their lives through education and community. Head Trailblazer Shannon serves on the board, and each year we are an in-kind sponsor for marketing support for the DeNeuville Gala and Golf Tournament.

  • Sister Supply fights period poverty by supplying tampons and pads to menstruators in need. To amp up the supply for the school year, the team holds a donation drive during the summer.

  • Girls Inc. has the central goal of empowering and inspiring girls and young women to be strong, smart, and bold. The Campfire Collective team volunteers their time for the quarterly food drives for the families of participating girls and at the annual Holiday Party.

  • Restore Corps exists to eradicate human trafficking by empowering survivors, equipping communities, and seeking justice through systematic change. Campfire Collective provides ongoing pro-bono PR support and is an in-kind sponsor for the annual Restore Corps Free901 5K/10K Run.

  • Shelby County Drug Court Foundation supports the Shelby County Drug Court, an alternative program that targets adults charged with non-violent drug-related offenses, offering non-violent female offenders a pathway to get jobs that can launch their careers without a record. Shannon serves on the board and Campfire Collective is an in-kind sponsor of their annual Race for Recovery 5K fundraising event.

  • My Cup of Tea walks with women beyond the boundaries of poverty and neglect and assists them in finding their purpose. The team supports their mission by including My Cup of Tea items as gifts for clients during the holidays.

In addition, Campfire Collective team members join with the community on September 1 for 901 Day of Service and in January for the MLK Day of Service.

Individual Impact

While we love to volunteer as a group, we all have our individual passions. These may differ, but one thing remains the same: our commitment to engage in meaningful initiatives that have a positive impact in our community. To encourage the flame of volunteerism within us all, we have a fun reward system at Campfire Collective. While it isn’t why we volunteer, we are always up for a little friendly competition!

For every hour team members volunteer each month, their name goes into a drawing. At the end of the month, we select one name at random from the entries. The winner gets a gift card to one of our all-time favorite local coffee shops, French Truck Coffee.

At the end of the year, we hold a Grand Prize Drawing for a gift card for a delectable dinner at The Bar-B-Q Shop, one of Memphis’ most outstanding eateries (not to mention one of our awesome clients). We throw in some exclusive Campfire Collective swag to sweeten the pot!
